How It Works

forpostcardGive + Take is a members-only swap boutique. With monthly private events and staff on hand to share style suggestions, we’re more than a store—we’re a community. Have a party Saturday night and nothing to wear? Swap for a dress during Friday’s lunch hour, wear it the next night, wash it Sunday morning and exchange it for your new favorite boots that afternoon. It’s like having access to a giant library of clothes—or a rent the runway for real-life occasions—but you never have to give anything back!

Why It Works (The Eco Angle)

Swapping is eco-fashion at its best and really can make a difference. There are 160 million American women spending an average of $60 each month on clothes, while dumping six pounds of textile waste into the landfill. If every woman in America swapped rather than shopped for just 30 days, we could save $10 billion and one billion pounds of landfill waste—in just one month!

The Nitty Gritty

Unlike most thrift stores, clothes and accessories at Give + Take are valued at 100% of their original cost, converted to points. For example, a dress that’s worth $100 would “cost” 6 points at Give + Take. If you brought in the dress, you’d get 6 points of credit in the store. If you want to take home the dress, you’d need 6 points to do that. You can accumulate points for larger items—i.e. bring in two $50 dresses and swap them out for a $100 pair of shoes. Simple, right?

What We Take

We don’t discriminate on style, size or season. Clothing that’s freshly laundered and neatly folded, shoes and boots that are gently worn (no footprints inside), and accessories—bags, belts, scarves, hats, jewelry and sunglasses—are all welcome.

A Note About Cost

We know, we know. You’re not used to paying a fee to shop, right? But the first time you bring home a pair of designer jeans, barely worn shoes or a date-night dress, you’ll make up the cost of your membership for months! Our members report that they save serious money by being a part of the Give + Take community. So give it a whirl! You can always cancel with 30-days notice.
